TELL US...
HOW DID YOU TWO LOVEBIRDS MEET?
Zack and I met in our 6th grade science class and rode the same bus home.
HOW DID YOUR FIRST KISS HAPPEN?
Our first kiss was in my drive way during the summer before going to college. I kept laughing out of nervousness as Zack tried again and again. It was awkward as they come, but completely unforgettable.
WHAT WAS ONE OF THE MOST ROMANTIC MOMENTS IN YOUR RELATIONSHIP?
One of our most romantic moments was a surprise trip to the Biltmore House in Ashville to stay at the Biltmore Inn. If you have never been, you have to go!
DESCRIBE YOUR WEDDING CAKE
Our wedding cake was from a local bakery in Charlotte called Hansel & Gretel, a mother-daughter company. The cake had delicious layers of vanilla and almond pound cake with raspberry and lemon filling. No fondant! Rather than having flowers on the cake, Jennie wanted something more meaningful. The jewels and broaches were from Zacks grandmothers who had recently past.
WHAT WAS YOUR FAVORITE DETAIL FROM THE WEDDING?
Our favorite detail from the wedding was the music we selected and coordinated to have played by The Teves Trio comprised of Flute, Cello, and Guitar. Jennie will never forget arriving to the church to hear Crown of Love, by Arcade Fire being played. We also decided to sing First Day of My Life, by Bright Eyes during our wedding ceremony as a surprise to our entire group. We tried to make the day as personal as possible
WHERE DID YOU GO ON YOUR HONEYMOON AND WHAT WAS THE MOST UNFORGETTABLE MOMENT OF THE TRIP?
We went to Rome, Italy on our honeymoon! Zack and I really wanted to go far, get away from everything and experience somewhere new. The most unforgettable sites were all the holiday décor up for Christmas, seeing the Vatican, and getting a blessing from the Pope himself!
WHAT WAS THE MOST UNFORGETTABLE MOMENT
ABOUT YOUR WEDDING?
The most unforgettable moment in our wedding was when Jennie lost the vows she had written. They were given to the wedding planner who was no where to be foundthere was a 5 minute pause in the ceremony as her maid of honor hunted the planner down. The photos that Abby and her team captured from those 5 minutes were some of our favorite!
The strongest aspect of our relationship is our history! Weve known one another for so long that we appreciate where weve been, where we are and where we are going together.
WHEN DID YOU REALIZE THAT IT WAS "MEANT TO BE?"
I realized that it was meant to be when I was living 650 miles away in New York City. Zack and I had mutually broken up for over a year and a half, but I couldnt stop thinking about him. Just as I did when I was 18 years old, I sat down, wrote him a letter and mailed it back to Charlotte. A month later I moved back to Charlotte with hopes that we might give it a second try. At a New Years Eve party we decided to start dating again.
WHAT IS THE ONE THING THAT YOU HAD TO HAVE
AT YOUR WEDDING?
The one thing we HAD to have at our wedding was a great photographer! Seriously, the day goes by so fast that having Abby and her team to catch the moments as they fly by was crucial. To this day, our photography is our favorite part of our wedding and it will be cherished by generations.
HOW WERE YOUR STYLES AND PERSONALITIES INFUSED INTO YOUR SPECIAL DAY?
We wanted our wedding to be a historic wedding in our favorite historic city. Charleston exemplifies our laid back personalities with a classic style that is hard to beat.
IN BRIEF DETAIL, TELL US ABOUT YOUR
EXPERIENCE WITH LIGA PHOTOGRAPHY
Our experience with Liga Photography was everything a bride and groom could hope for and MORE! Abby is the kind of person you meet and adore in an instant. She truly knows her craft and goes out of her way to make sure that the day is captured. Her team of people took care of everything so effortlessly that we didnt worry one bit about something being missed, forgotten, or out of place. When we got the proof of our pictures we were blown away and our mothers were in tears. There is not a day we dont walk by our picture on our wall and count Abby as our biggest wedding blessing! She is the kind of photographer every bride dreams about.
WHICH WAS YOUR FAVORITE IMAGE AND
WHY IS IT YOUR FAVORITE?
To pick one image as our favorite is tough. The photo of us singing during our ceremony is hard to beat, but our family loves the shot of us in the church garden after the wedding.
