I am excited to announce that I had the wonderful opportunity to contribute to the October issue of Rangefinder Magazine! In the article titled “Trend Watch: To Unplug or Not” by Lindsay Comstock and Libby Peterson, I was interviewed amongst a couple other photographers about the trend of the “unplugged wedding”. We were asked where we stand on this trend as professional wedding photographers. It was interesting to read the other photographers’ take on the “unplugged wedding” and how it is affecting their shooting workflow. Recently, I also wrote an article on my blog about this trend after photographing a destination “unplugged wedding” in Bermuda this Summer. The bride and groom made a cute sign delivered in the welcome bags kindly requesting for everyone to leave their phones alone and experience the moments with them. It was quite refreshing from a professional photographer’s perspective as I wasn’t battling a sea of cell phones and iPads trying to get my shot. Check out the Rangefinder article for yourself below. I am hopeful the “unplugged wedding” will become a trend that turns into a norm at weddings. I would love to know your thoughts, feel free to leave a comment below!
