Words cannot express how heart-felt and beautiful Sarah and Sean’s wedding was. As the backdrop being iconic Miami, no one could have asked for better weather and sunshine. I began the weekends journey by documenting their rehearsal dinner at the ever-famous Fountainbleu Hotel in Miami Beach. Such celebrities as Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin are a few to have mingled at this historic hotel. Also, I have to mention that their wedding weekend of March 19th was not only a full moon, but also a “Super Moon” that is described to be the largest and brightest it’s been in 20 years. Safe to say, an astronomers dream.
How can one be so lucky? Not only was this moon to be larger than normal, it just so happened that Miami had clear skies throughout the weekend. I say it is definitely good luck for the happy couple. Sarah and Sean began their wedding weekend extravaganza celebrating underneath the stars at La Cote Restaurant at The Fountainbleu. Guests wined, dined, and watched a lovely slide show of the soon-to-be newlyweds throughout the evening.
The next day was nothing but sunshine and excitement. My amazingly fabulous second photographer, Catalina Ayubi, and I met Sarah and her girls up in her suite. We began documenting all the lovely details. Her Vera Wang gown, Jimmy Choos, jewelry…sigh. The feeling of anticipation and excitement poured throughout the room. Her bridesmaids wore stunning satin and eggplant off-the shoulder cocktail dresses…all three ladies looked perfect.Sean and his groomsmen daunted classic black tuxedos and wore them quite well.
As the clock struck 5:30, everyone headed over to the Alfred Dupont Building, a historic bank, now gorgeous venue for weddings, located in hip downtown Miami. Guests took their seats while the wedding party took their queue. Sunlight poured in the windows while Sarah and Sean said their vows in a traditional Jewish ceremony. While Sean successfully broke “the glass” everyone stood up in celebration for Sarah and Sean.
One of the most striking elements of the Alfred Dupont Building are the old brass architecture placed throughout, consisting of an enormous old vault, bank teller counter, and intricate wooden ceiling. Mix all of these historic elements and add hot pink uplighting…you have yourself a ridiculously amazing backdrop for a reception. One of the many reasons why I love photographing here.
Honestly, I could go on and on about Sarah and Sean’s reception, but I can safely say that the images speak for themselves. Everyone had such an amazing time including the newlyweds. I feel that we all felt the power of the “super moon” as I feel all fell into place just so. A huge congrats to Sarah and Sean…xoxo Abby
